How to Manually Set Publish Dates for Adaptify Articles

This document provides step-by-step instructions on how to manually set and adjust the publish dates for articles. This feature is only available for articles created on or after May 1st, 2024.

This feature is intended to help align your content release with your content strategy more effectively, whether you are back-dating for consistency or scheduling for future publication.

Availability:

  • Feature Availability: Only available on articles created on or after May 1st, 2024.
  • Platform Support: Currently available for WordPress only.

Steps to Set Publish Date

For Newly Created Articles

  1. Create an Article:
    • Begin by creating a new article in Adaptify.
    • Once the article is written, proceed to scheduling.
  2. Schedule the Article:
    • Choose your newly created article, locate the "Schedule Article" button in the left-hand column.
    • Click on this button to open the date picker.

  3. Select a Publish Date:
    • Choose the desired date from the calendar. You can select any past or future date as the publish date for your article.
    • Confirm your selection.
  4. Publish the Article:
    • After setting the date, a blue "Re-publish Article" button will appear at the top of the article.
    • Click this button to finalize the changes. The article will be scheduled to go live on the selected date.

For Already Published Articles

  1. Access the Article:
    • Navigate to the article that you want to update from the “published” section of the Content Plan.
  2. Change the Publish Date:
    • Follow the same steps as for new articles by clicking the "Schedule Article" button and selecting a new date.
  3. Re-publish the Article:
    • Once the date is adjusted, click the blue "Re-publish Article" button.
    • This will update the article on your website to reflect the new publish date.

Future Dating

For future dated content, Adaptify will write and publish the article as normal. You will then see if in your Wordpress dashboard as a “scheduled” post. When the scheduled time arrives, Wordpress will automatically make the post live.
